Today we present a collection I did for my Projet Professionnel at École supérieure des arts appliqués Duperré. This time we decided to post more photos of the process because it actually took ten months to make the whole collection and everything that goes with it. Clothes are not the only thing that matters. What took the most time was finding a lot of different inspiration – mostly architecture, interior design and various artists, then after months of research and textile experimentations (engraving print, laser cut, sublimation print, canadian smocking, hand sewing techniques etc.) it was time to do around forty sketches (collection plan) and ten fashion illustrations, choosing materials, colors, calculating the consumption of fabric and other accessories (zippers, yarns …), After all that – it was time to sew final dresses and work on the branding and packaging. I had to make a business card that reflects the atmosphere of my collection (colors, materials etc.), presentation cards, key words, tag, target group, placing the brand, shopping bag for our brand (Les Jumelles) and finally the look book (huh, I know, you get tired of just reading all of this, imagine you had to do it!).
David Paige, who is also ‘our almost neighbour’ in Paris took the pictures of our today’s editorial that you can check bellow – we absolutely love it.
We were not able to take pictures of the last outfit I did, because it wasn’t finished by then, and as usual, I had to sew it last night before the exam (Teja helped me, of course, thank you very much!)
I also wanted to say that this is not a collection for my Bachelor’s degree, that’s a whole another story and an extra year of work ( I know, right?). Let’s keep it a secret for now.
Enjoy the photos and have a great Saturday night!
Kiss,
Anja
